Hello and welcome! Jose Mutarelli here writing directly to you! Yeah, you got that right! No robot or text generator. It is the man himself here, baby! Thank you so much for visiting my site, and taking an interest in me, and my work!

HERE WE GO!!

 

 My most recent work is the short-narrative drama film “Side Effects”. Winner of 10 festivals in different categories in each festival, including Best Drama at the “Paris Cinema Awards” and Best Producer at “Golden Sparrow International Film Festival”. I produced, wrote, and directed 11 actors and 30 crew members, using the 2,500-dollar feature (Fundraised) and dealing with the 4-day, 12-hour-a-day filming time limit with a two-day company move. I also coordinated the post-production of the 12.40 min film.

I love collaborating with others and working together, mainly with other creators. During my years at Columbia College Chicago, I had the privilege to meet and collaborate with other creators and learned something new working from each experience. What best way to work and learn if not from other people with different ideas and creative minds?

I’ve worked in many different roles/departments over the years as a filmmaker, such as:

Why I’ve decided to work with film?

In my not-so-humble opinion, cinema is the truest form of art. When combining audio and visual, there are infinite possibilities for the stories you can tell and how you can tell them. We are always telling a story when we release a video, even if it's not a film, and what best way to tell a story than one we can experience with our sound and visual senses. The best feeling for me as a filmmaker is when I see the audience's reaction to a film I made, and they feel the emotion that I intend them to in each moment of the film. There is no description of the feeling of being able to bring emotions to people, happy, sad, angry, and each one with a purpose behind it.
